We're very excited to bring to you our first Confetti Mix of the Month for 2022. This particular mix has been inspired by Pantone's colour of the year 2022, Very Peri. A new blue-ish colour described by Pantone as "dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet-red undertone."

"The Pantone Color of the Year reflects what is taking place in our global culture, expressing what people are looking for that colour can hope to answer. Creating a new colour for the first time in the history of our Pantone Color of the Year educational colour program reflects the global innovation and transformation taking place. As society continues to recognise colour as a critical form of communication, and a way to express and affect ideas and emotions and engage and connect, the complexity of this new red violet infused blue hue highlights the expansive possibilities that lay before us". -  Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute

Periwinkle belongs to the blue and violet family, colours we automatically think of when the gentle chill in the air turns bitter cold signifying winter has truly arrived. Hence our inspiration to bring to you a limited-edition confetti mix for the winter wedding season.

Winter weddings are growing in popularity, the dreamy lighting, crisp weather and the changing colours of the landscape that winter days bring make winter such a magical time of the year to tie the knot; some even may be lucky enough to get a glimmering blanket of snow.

We do however feel the people often confuse winter weddings with Christmas weddings, automatically thinking of burgundy, shades of greens and cream. This particular mix has been created for the beautiful winter months of January and February.

Winter Purple Hues with a Hint of Pink

This stunning eco-friendly confetti mix is a combination of real dried delphinium petals, cornflowers and hydrangeas. We've blended Lovely Lilac, Amethyst, Candy Floss and Lilac Haze to create this dreamy winter themed confetti. The ultimate moody purple hues and soft pastel shades of the pink and lilac make this the perfect palette for the colder winter months.

Whether you are having an icy pastel colour scheme or perhaps you are in love with the soft blue Bridgerton trend for winter, this mix will bring much warmth and richness to your confetti shot. Even sprinkled down the aisle between lanterns filled with pillar candles, leading to a romantic fairy light backdrop will create that cosy wintry atmosphere, setting the whole mood for the day.

It will also work in harmony with delicate styling, we can envision it sprinkled on your tablescapes paired with lilac card stock place names etched in white foil, sprigs of green winter foliage and even lavender for that magic scent, dusky pink napkins, elegant tapered white candles and pine cones too creating a whimsical feel.

Personalise Your Day

What better way to personalise your wedding than with your very own confetti sachets with your name, wedding date and having it all matched to your wedding theme? They arrive with you pre-filled and all you have to do is either place them on your guests chairs the morning of the wedding or have them attached to your order of service.

Alternatively, if you're planning a winter barn wedding it's worth considering something more traditional and rustic like our Confetti Basket, or even a Flower Girl Basket or two.

Throw Confetti all Year Around

Confetti isn't just for spring/summer weddings it can be thrown all year around. You can still enjoy your confetti even if the weather is rainy on the big day. All our petals are dye-free so we don't have issues with colour. If the weather is wet and windy on your wedding day, it's a great idea to have an indoor back up plan (always check with your venue first). You could opt to have your confetti thrown as you walk down the aisle, cutting your cake or during your first dance.

If your wedding venue need a little reassurance why not request a confetti sample from us and show it to your venue?

Not allowed to throw it indoors? Get your guests to create a funnel with umbrella's outside. Matching your colour scheme of course - there's always a way to throw confetti!

As this mix contains small and large petals, it's got a fantastic mixture of textures and fall rates, giving your wedding photographer lots of time to get the shot.

How much confetti do I need?

Our handy confetti calculator that will let you know how much you need for your big day! Simply input how many wedding guests you have coming and follow the recommendation. After many years of throwing confetti, we find 1 litre of confetti is around 10-12 handfuls, or up to 20 handfuls for children.

Just remember, you know your guests more than anyone, so if you think everyone is going to throw confetti, make sure to get enough for everyone (or a little more if you fancy having a few confetti throws!) alternatively if you think around half your guests might throw you can always go for a smaller amount.

When should I order order?

Our petals delphinium and wildflower petals will actually keep for around 12 months, where as our larger petals like roses or hydrangea for up to 3 months, so to keep it simple if you order over 3 months away from your big day you can select our Delayed Delivery service. That means, you order whenever you know what you want, we keep it save and secure in our Petal Shed on the Shropshire Petals farm and around a month before your big day we send it out to you via Royal Mail (or Parcel Force).

Alternatively if your wedding is less than 3 months away you can order right away and have everything delivery straight away. We also have an express delivery for last minute orders too, for those last minute emergencies. Don't forget the confetti

Reasons Why You Should Use Petal Confetti

Petal confetti is the preferred choice of so many wedding venues across the UK, Europe and around the world. Our confetti is made from real flower petals, grown, dried and dispatched from our family farm in Shropshire.

All our petals are eco-friendly as they come from nature, they're grown not made. They're much more sustainable than paper, as the flowers only take a few months to grow as opposed to paper that takes years to grow trees, plus our petal confetti doesn't require any processing, unlike paper confetti. Best of all, it's biodegradable, meaning no one needs to clean up after you and it's non-harmful to the environment either. The petals are dye-free, beautiful and recommended by real couples, take a look at our Feefo for reviews from our customers.

We hope you feel inspired by our new Mix of the Month and are as excited about it as we are!
