Biodegradable Wedding Confetti
Why throw confetti over the newly married couple on their wedding day? Throwing beautiful confetti over newly weds is a tradition that's been present in British Weddings for over two centuries. Confetti used to symbolise the wish of a fertile marriage. Whilst the symbolism may have shifted in recent years, the act of showering newlyweds in a celebration of love and petals has forever stuck. The confetti throw is the start of the party and one for the wedding album too.
Not all confetti is the same
The call for biodegradable petal confetti began as churches and venues preferred it to paper or synthetic confetti. These days real dried flower petals are a must have for throwing confetti, they're beautiful, romantic, fun, colourful, environmentally friendly and always natural. Getting the ultimate confetti photo is now one of the most important photos of the day, everyone is smiling, having fun and it's the start of the party!
There are several options when it comes to wedding confetti, including paper, metallic confetti, and even rice. There are even some paper confetti types that are biodegradable, that said all of these are manufactured, they go through a heavy process that requires valuable resources. Paper confetti not only out-dated but it's a pollutant to the environment. That's why we've started a petal confetti revolution!
Most wedding venues don't allow paper or metallic confetti. Paper confetti is made from trees which takes years to grow, they're then felled, milled, bleached or dyed, and go through a laborious process to make it into paper. While our flowers only take a few months to grow on our Shropshire farm. Making them far more sustainable, with a lower carbon footprint and less use of resources too.

What are the best petals for confetti?
All our petals are picked by hand to ensure only the best quality are delivered to our couples. Delphiniums and wildflowers make the best shower effect confetti, as they're small, light-weight and gently flutter down to the ground giving your wedding photographer plenty of time to get those all-important confetti photos.
Over the years we've thoroughly tested all our petals to make sure they throw perfectly and look spectacular. We've put together a huge collection of popular confetti mixes, from dusky pinks of Pink Lemonade, to the bright cheerful colours of Tutti Fruity.
There is nothing better than the real thing to help you choose what petals to have for your wedding day. Request a confetti sample delivered right to your front door, to help you choose what petals you'd like on our Confetti Sample page. You can choose up to 5 petal samples and it's only £2.
How much confetti do I need?
Use our Confetti Calculator to work out how much flower confetti you need for your wedding day.
We find a litre is enough for about 10-12 handfuls. Providing enough confetti for at least half your guests is a good rule of thumb, but you know your guests better than anyone else, so if you think they'd all want to throw, then go for it! The more the merrier.
If you're planning an intimate wedding with less than 30 guests, we recommend getting everyone to throw to get a good confetti shot! You can also offer cannons to guests to make sure you get a spectacular confetti photo with less guests.
Have a play with the Confetti Pick & Mixer and have fun creating your own unique confetti mix! We've loads of inspiring ideas and customer photos in the gallery, so whether it's throwing confetti, a petal path, flower girl petals, table petals or even a romantic evening we've the natural petal confetti to match.
Visit our Pick & Mix where you can create your own unique confetti mix! It's completely biodegradable wedding confetti.

It's never too early to order your wedding confetti! If your wedding is less than 3 months away you can order with immediate delivery. If your wedding is over 3 months away we recommend using our Delayed Delivery service, meaning you can order months or years ahead of your wedding day and we will dispatch everything from our petal shed a month before you need them.
