Come rain or shine...
A wonderful guest blog from a lovely bride - Vikki.
Picture a spring morning,
bright sunshine, scattered clouds and birds singing… well that wasn’t our
wedding morning. Saturday 24th May… Rain, grey
clouds and my sister singing “Who’s getting married in the
morning†…Typical. We didn’t let that ruin our special day
though!
Our confetti shot was our first outside photo with no rain - which meant that we could be showered with Shropshire Petals confetti!
‘Summer Sky’.
We chose 'Summer Sky' natural confetti which combined vintage colours of cream 'Icing Sugar' and 'Frosted Blue' delphinium petals with light blue 'Duckegg Blue' hydrangea petals. We chose this confetti mix while visiting the Birmingham National Wedding Show. The team on the stand were fantastic at helping us choose.
There’s every colour you can think of and it’s a great way to see them all.
We decided to make confetti cones using white doilies to go with our vintage theme. We also created a holder
using a vintage suitcase for the cones. This took time and effort to create
using a sheet of plastic in the bottom with holes in to stand the cones in,
which enabled the cones to stand without spilling. We then decopatched the
plastic with vintage paper.
A beautiful vintage suitcase
We really wanted to create
something that we hadn’t seen done before. We were so
pleased with how it all came out. It was my parent’s hard work and creativity
that enabled the suitcase to look so beautiful on our pictures. It was also down to Shropshire
petals incredible confetti that made our photos look so special and I wouldn’t
recommend any where else for it!!
Pretty confetti cones made with white doilies
Shropshire petals also do dried lavender grain which we purchased to make scented favour bags for our female guests. This smelt amazing on the day as well as looking beautiful on the tables. We also sprinkled some of the confetti in the bags just too add some colour.
We had an amazing day filled
with special moments that we will treasure forever and after that last song is
played and the last cone of confetti is thrown... all you have left are
memories and beautiful photographs which last a lifetime.
The confetti moment!
